Your dog will be accommodated in an individual run with a separate sleeping compartment at one end. New beds have been purchased which are made of a flea-proof, non-sag fabric and are also adjustable in height (specially for older dogs). Blankets are also provided. For those dogs used to sleeping on the end of your bed, electric heat mats are available at an additional cost.
Dogs are accommodated in runs according to their size. Two or three dogs from the same household can be housed together in one of our large runs so that best friends are not separated.
Bitches in season are also catered for out of peak holiday times.
Exercise:
All runs look out on to large grassed and treed areas. The large exercise areas also set amongst these grassed areas. The length of time spent in an exercise yard will sometimes depend on the weather. Dogs are exercised alone or in a small group, depending on the compatibility of those in kennels. Great care is taken to match suitable playmates, because your dogs safety is of paramount importance to us.
Human Contact:
Because “your pets are our pets” we talk to and pat all our boarders whenever we (or our staff) are in the kennel complex. Time-consuming yes, but the dogs love it.
Bathing:
All dogs staying with us for five or more days receive a complimentary hydrobath. Long coated breeds are subject to negotiation.
Food:
Dogs are fed on a high performance dry food and 4 Legs chicken. Older dogs are fed a “special care” dry food specially formulated for their digestive systems. Puppies are also catered for with a high protein diet fed twice daily. Dogs with special dietary or medication requirements can be accommodated.
Vaccinations:
We have a strict policy regarding vaccinations. Evidence of C5 vaccinations within the last 12 months are required before admission. If your dog has not had a C5 vaccination (which includes Canine Cough coverage) we recommend that it be done at least 14 days prior to coming into the kennels. However, you should consult your vet as full inoculation can take up to 6 weeks to achieve in some circumstances for dogs. We make this request for the health and safety of your pet and others.
